Keiko Shimosato Carreiro is a Collective and Board Member with the Tony award winning San Francisco Mime Troupe. Since 1987, she has been an Director, Actor, Designer, and Co- Writer. Keiko is an Award Winning Costume Designer, nominated for TBA Best Costumes, Bay Area Critics Circle award, and recipient of the 2018 Meritorious Achievement Award.
Micah graduated from Saint Mary’s College with a BA in Dance and a minor in Women & Gender Studies. Micah received the Louis Lefevre Award and her choreographed pieces were chosen to represent Saint Mary’s College at American College Dance Association.
Catalina graduated from Saint Mary’s College of California with a BA in Dance, Spanish, and Art History. At Saint Mary’s, Catalina performed consistently with the undergraduate and graduate programs. She performed in Davalos Dance Company’s Radical Acts of Love in Panicale, Italy in July 2018. In July 2019 Catalina taught at AAIACE’s musical theater summer camp in Suzhou, China.
About the Course
Focusing on the classic medium of Puppet Theater across 12 interactive workshops, students will explore Puppet Character design and construction, set design, acting and snowman dance. These workshops will be taught by three fantastic instructors and will culminate in students presenting their own puppet scene, snowman dance, and original sound design to an audience of fellow students, family, and friends.
